Acupuncture has been proved to be effective in a broad range of conditions and may also be used to maintain general wellbeing.

The World Health Organisation recognises that Acupuncture can be effective in treating a number of common conditions. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

Musculo-skeletal disorders
Back pain, sciatica, shoulder pain, neck pain, sports injuries, arthritis, rehabilitation following stroke

Respiratory disorders
Asthma, cough, cold, flu, hay fever, bronchitis

Gynaecological disorders
Irregular or painful menstruation, PMT, symptoms of menopause, morning sickness during pregnancy, malposition of foetus, Infertility in association with IVF treatment.

Emotional disorders
Insomnia, anxiety, headache, stress

Ear, Nose & Throat disorders
Sinusitis, sore throat, earache

Gastrointestinal disorders
Diarrhoea, constipation, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Neurological disorders
Post-Stroke neuralgia and weakness, Herpes Zoster (Shingles), headache

Acupuncture is also an effective Supportive Treatment for:

• Post-operative nausea, vomiting and pain

• Side effects of medication
