Anatomy of the Hand
The human wrist and hand are very complex units which are capable of numerous movements and functions for which a full discussion is beyond the scope of the course.
There are more than 25 joints and 30 muscles involved in the movements of the wrist, hand and fingers.
Movements: flexion are involved in making a fist and moving the wrist joint in the same direction as the fingers whilst doing so.
Extension: is the opposite movement.
